Gene C. Reid Park has been a beloved gathering place for Tucsonans for decades, offering a lush escape in the heart of the desert city.
Originally part of a land donation in the 1920s, the park has evolved into a 131-acre oasis that blends natural beauty, recreation, and cultural enrichment.
The park features walking and biking paths lined with mature trees, peaceful duck ponds, a public rose garden, and wide open spaces ideal for family gatherings,
exercise, and play. At its heart are two major attractions: the
Reid Park Zoo,
a nationally accredited wildlife destination, and the
DeMeester Outdoor Performance Center,
a stage for live music, festivals, and civic celebrations.
Reid Park is more than a public green space—it’s a cornerstone of Tucson’s identity, where generations have come together for recreation, education, and connection.
Whether attending a concert, visiting the zoo, or simply enjoying a quiet walk under the shade of old-growth trees,
visitors continue to find joy and community in every corner of this city landmark.
